If you aren’t tall enough in China, you might be dateless and jobless

On the National Geographic website I watched a video about a subject that fits in with Body Politics; bone stretching.  Apparently in China you will have a hard time being successful and even dating if you aren’t tall enough.  The video shows a bone stretching clinic and some patients.  It can take a year to stretch the leg bones.  Why doesn’t it matter more what a person is capable of?  Why doesn’t matter more what a person’s work ethic is?
